Welcome! Since 2005, Mary Swift Photography has teamed up with the Baltimore Humane Society in an effort to capture all of its animals’ personalities on film and help them find their forever homes. Here you will find photos and stories of just a few of the many pets that are still waiting patiently to be adopted. Occasionally you’ll see pets from other organizations here as well, since I volunteer with several different rescues. Please check back often, as I will be updating this blog regularly with more photos of adoptable animals. Maybe you’ll find your next family member here!

Yes!! I would like to say thank you to Mary for her her great work. My husband and I fell in love at first sight with Frisko – the cat we adopted back in September and I KNOW it was because she did such a wonderful job of capturing his personality in the photo. When I met him the first time he was exactly how I imagined and I almost cried on the way home knowing I still had to wait for the adoption process and that someone still might get him first. I just wanted to snuggle him and play. Luckily I had the great photo that felt like I was assured he was meant to be with our family.
Now that he’s home he’s still just as fun as anyone could have known through seeing the remarkable photo from the site.
He’s still a gem but I’ll never forget the first time I saw him on the site and loved the photo! Thank you Mary!!!
